Site Functionality

Drag and Drop

Here We Stand utilizes a lot of “drag and drop” functionality. Drag and drop allows the user of the site to grab an item from one part of the web page and move it to a different location on the same page.

How do I drag and drop?

  1. Left click on any item in the Resources panel and hold down the button on your mouse.
  2. As you move your mouse, the item will move with your mouse icon.
  3. When the item is hovering over the area on the work space on the left-hand side of the page where you’d like it to be placed, that area will become highlighted and you can lift your finger off the mouse button.

What if I put something in the wrong spot? You can always drag items around once you’ve dropped them in the work area. Alternatively, you can delete the item by clicking on the red x action icon and re-dragging it over to the correct area.

Where is this functionality used on the site? Drag and drop functionality is used every place where a Resources panel appears on the right-hand side of the page. This includes both organizing people into groups, adding groups and content to events, and adding recipients to an email message in the Message Center.

Action Icons

When you move your mouse arrow over a list of items on a Here We Stand page, action icons will appear on the right hand side of the item that will let you perform various actions on the item.

How do I use the Action Icons?
Click on each action icon to preview, edit, comment, or delete the item.

Why do I not see all of the Action Icons?
Which action icons you see depends on your site access level. For example, Directors will have more options than Parents, due to their need to create and manage events.

For specific Here We Stand pages that have action icons, see the related articles, below.

Resources panel

The Resources panel is a module on the right-hand side of many pages that supplies the user with items s/he needs for the primary task on the page. The panel is organized so finding things is intuitive; alternatively, you can do a search and the panel will populate with results that are useful to whatever the task is at hand. As your work area expands down the page, the panel will move with you, so you never have to scroll back up to find what you need.
