Titling the Event
Be sure to pick a title that will make sense to Leaders and Parents, as it will appear on their calendars as well as your own once it is saved to the calendar.
Selecting a Model
- Augsburg Fortress publishes three different “models” of Spark curriculum: Classroom, Lectionary, and Rotation.
- When Classroom, Lectionary, or Rotation is selected from the model list, Spark Online searches our database of lesson and story content and filters it to aid you in your scope and sequence planning (for recurring events) or content selection step.
- Model is a required field because the planning process for each of the three models is slightly different.
- If you will not be using Spark curriculum for your event, select “Custom” as the model.
One-Time Events
- All One-Time Events have “Custom” as the model. This allows the Director to add any Spark content and/or any “My Church’s Files” to the event plan.
- One-Time Events deliver reminders to all participants.
- All participants can download the selected content.
Description
- The description field is a place Directors can enter information about One-Time or Recurring Events.
- A description entered for a Recurring Event will be viewable by all site users and will appear on all events within the recurrence, so it is best not to include date-specific information in the event description.
Examples:- One-Time Event Description:
This is the first of two Sunday School Teacher Training sessions for the Fall Sunday School session. Dress comfortably and bring your calendars. Refreshments and child care will be provided. - Recurring Event Description:
First Service Early Elementary Sunday School for Spring Semester. Leaders and Parents—please check-in at the Education Desk in the Atrium before entering the Education Center.
